After initial victories over Holy Cross and Fordham, Coach Ellie Noyes' runners have found themselves in trouble in their later starts. After being soundly defeated by Yale on the weekend of the Harvard football game, the team went to Harvard while the football team was playing Yale. In. Cambridge, the Crimson distance runners won decisively by the score of 20-37. Stan Smiley covered himself with mud and glory by coming in first, but after that five Harvards finished in succession, thereby sewing up the meet. Tom Kelley and Sam Daniell of Dartmouth finished in 7th and Bth positions and Tom Rinter and George Clendon of the Green finished farther back but still in the money.

On November 10, the team went down to Van Cortlandt Park for the annual Heptagonal games. This traditional Ivy League classic was won by Army, with Cornell, Pennsylvania, Yale, Princeton, and Dartmouth finishing in that order, followed by Harvard, Brown, Navy, and Columbia. The first Green runner to cross the line was the redoubtable Stan Smiley, who finished in 7th place. Other Green finishers in this grueling encounter were George Clendon in 24th place, Tom Ritner in 30th, Sam Daniell in 45th place, and Jim Gilges in the 49th position. The harriers conclude their season on November 20 in the annual ICAAAA encounter. Army is expected to win that one too.
