The Davison Prints
NOVEMBER 1931

An important series of print exhibitions at the Carpenter Hall art galleries, regarded as the most interesting single item on the year's program there, was begun in the middle of October with the exhibition of a representative group of twenty-five outstanding masterpieces of all periods. The series of exhibitions, of which this was the first, has been made possible through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Davison of New York, who have loaned their collection to the College for exhibition and instruction purposes. The Davison collection is one of the largest and most valuable in the country.

The series of exhibitions will be arranged in such a way as to provide a comprehensive survey of the art from the fifteenth century to the present day, and will provide an opportunity such as is to be found only at the world's leading art museums to study at first hand examples of the great masters of etching. The exhibitions will be arranged chronologically by periods and schools and displayed in a gallery especially reserved for that purpose. They will be changed every three weeks. The exhibitions will be accompanied by gallery talks and lectures.
