In answer to a need felt for a sort of supervised self-expression, Mr. Carlos Sanchez '23 has come to the college as an instructor and general helper in all branches of pictorial and plastic art. He has had a most enthusiastic reception, and classes, held daily, please us by growing and growing. A well-equipped studio on the top floor of Carpenter has been given over, and all facilities are of the finest. This, if the same enthusiasm continues, will undoubtedly be given a standard place in the college curriculum, for it tends more to one of the ends of a liberal college than anything else we know of.
The Round Table has sponsored a number of very interesting lectures, which are notable in that they are always accompanied by a forum discussion following the talk. These lectures are far better selected and attended than they have been in previous years, which is perhaps another indication of the gradual awakening of the college to its own immediate values.
