The Dartmouth Club of Cleveland continues to function, as we believe, as the peppiest crowd of alumni that the College possesses. We have a private dining room at the Hotel Statler, and meet regularly each Saturday noon. The average attendance at these luncheons is thirty-five good men and true. A great deal of wit flows back and forth, and occasionally a bun is thrown, for no man is allowed to make a, speech and get away with it, although the organization possesses the usual quota of orators who always have more or less to say. Following the luncheon, from three to five tables of bridge are started, and the playing goes on until evening. We are happy to say that we have the only alumni club in Cleveland that meets regularly and weekly throughout the entire year.
The annual banquet was held at the Union Club on February 19. All of the active alumni were present, and we had as honor guest Dean Laycock. Al Goss, our pride and joy, delivered an address on "Laycock, Not the Dean, but Laycock the Man." The banquet broke up in the wee small hours of the morning for some of us, but we are proud to say no one fell down the elevator shaft.
At the present, the club's activities are centered on the coming event March 30 of the Glee Club concert. This concert will be held at the Hollenden Hotel and will be followed by a dance. The membership is divided into teams, and the sale of tickets waxes hot and heavy.
