Philip S. Marden '94, chairman of the committee on resolutions, reported the following resolutions which were unanimously adopted:
RESOLVED: The Alumni Council of Dartmouth College desires to write into its records this acknowledgment of its indebtedness to its members whose terms of service come to an end with the present College year. Messrs. Guy C. Richards '96 of Salem, Mass., William W. Grant '03 of Denver, Colorado, Lemuel G. Hodgkins '00 of Worcester, Mass., and Joseph W. Worthen '09 of Boston, Mass., have been most faithful in attendance at the meetings of this Council and most serviceable to it in the giving of their sound judgment as well as of their time. In an especial manner would the Council recognize the indefatigable services of Mr. Hodgkins during his six years of arduous work as our member of the Athletic Council, and express its high appreciation of the ability with which he has discharged the duties pertaining to that important organization. Each of these men has given the maximum of continuous service permitted by our rules; and while these duties must now devolve on others, the Council is fully aware that it can still command the loyal interest of these men, so long itsactiveand helpful associates. RESOLVED: The impending retirement of Robert C. Strong '24 from the position of executive secretary of the Alumni Fund calls forth the desire of the Alumni Council to record its lively appreciation of Mr. Strong's untiring service and unfailing tact in dealing with this important and intricate matter. To that end the Alumni Council directs that this expression of esteem and regard be entered on its minutes, together with its best wishes and heartfelt thanks to Mr. Strong for all that he has done in the years of his connection with the Fund administration.
