The Dartmouth Alumni Council convened in its annual Commencement meeting in Hanover in the library of Sanborn House, Friday afternoon, June 16, at 3:00 o'clock. William J. Minsch 'O7, president of the Council, was in the chair. The following members were present:

New Councilors
The secretary announced that Louis E. Leverone 'O4 of Chicago had been elected to the Council from the Central States district, having received the most votes in a close election contest with William D. JCnight 'OB and Henry K. Urion 'l2. He also announced the elections of Prof. Charles W. McKenzie '2O of St. Louis, Missouri; Chauncey B. Baxter 'lO of Tacoma, Washington; Nathan C. Lenfestey 'l3 of New York City; and the reelection of John R. Burleigh 'l4 as representative of the Secretaries Association. Joseph T. Gilman 'O5 becomes a member of the Alumni Council by virtue of his senior position on the Athletic Council.
Report of the Meetings
Limitations of space prevent the publication here of a detailed account of the several reports of committees and discussions which filled the time of the Council meetings Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Those who talked to the Council were L. K. Neidlinger '23 for the Athletic Council; Carl F. Woods 'O4 for the special committee on the question of revising methods of nomination and election to the Council; John C. Sterling 'll for the Alumni Fund committee; John Thompson '34 and John Odell '35 in behalf of a group of undergraduates interested in developing aquatic sports including crew racing, in the College; Natt Emerson 'OO and D. P. Hatch '2B speaking for the Dartmouth Outing Club's project for an all year sports center to be developed in Jobildunk Ravine near Moosilauke.
The Council enjoyed a joint dinner with the Board o£ Trustees as guests of President and Mrs. Hopkins. The dinner was held Friday evening, June 16, and was followed by informal discussion of College policies and problems led by the President.
Resolutions
At the close of the meetings, the following resolutions were presented by John R. Burleigh 'l4, chairman of the committee, and adopted:
RESOLVED: That the Council express its appreciation to Bishop Walter T. Sumner '9B, Leigh C. Turner 'O4, Jess B. Hawley 'O9, John W. Pearson 'll, and Lloyd K. Neidlinger '23 for their service on the Council. It is our hope, although their terms have expired, that they will continue to meet with us.
RESOLVED: That the Council extend its thanks to President and Mrs. Hopkins, whose cordial hospitality has made our meeting most enjoyable.
RESOLVED: That the Council express its thanks to the English Department whose generous offer of the Sanborn House library has provided us with a delightful meeting place.
RESOLVED: That the Council express its sorrow in the death of Edward Kimball Hall '92. His passing has ended a life of useful service to the College and to intercollegiate sport. His generosity and Mrs. Hall's has been amply demonstrated in providing "Dick's House" for ministration to the needs of the College family. His services to the College have been wide and varied. Our deep sympathy goes to his family.
