The Secretary learned early in the summer, but too late for publication in the June MAGAZINE, of various activities of classmates and members of their families. A very interesting bit of news is that Dr. Charlie McKendree was and probably still is serving on a committee of ten physicians, appointed by Governor Lehman, to make recommendations concerning changes that should be made in the Workmen's Compensation Act as it operates in the state of New York.

It was also reported that Mrs. McKendree had a serious operation last spring but had fully recovered. The report also tells us that "Morris Smith did a splendid job."

Classmates will be interested to learn of some of the activities of 'O7 sons. Gardner Cushman '35 is stage manager of The Players. Dana Redington '34 is president of the Interfraternity Council. Dexter Martin has been elected to the news board of The Dartmouth. Louville Niles and Gardner Cushman were chosen for the Green Key. W. T. Wyman '36 was elected to the literary board of Jack-O-Lantern.

We have a report, not definitely confirmed, that King McCoy has moved from Springfield, Mass. to Manchester, N. H.

Ted Foster has recently been elected president of the Richard Young Company, leather merchants, with whom he has been associated for many years.

Early in the summer a newspaper report stated that George H. Howard, president of the United Corporation of Delaware, had resigned as a director of twelve corporations associated with the Electric Bond and Share Company, retaining his post as director in the latter company, however. George remains as chief executive of the United Corporation and as director of the Atlas Corporation, Brooks Brothers, Chase National Bank, Lehigh and New England Railroad, and Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company. He is also chairman of the executive committee of Niagara Hudson Power Corporation, and director of the United Gas Improvement Public Service Corporation of New Jersey, Columbia Gas and Electric Corporation, and Commonwealth and Southern Corporation. George was a prominent witness in the Morgan investigation in Washington in May.

The Rockford Register-Republic of June 10 reports the election of Agard Bartlett to a vacancy on the board of trustees of Rockford College. Agard is our friend "Jimmie", and we congratulate him and the college.

Our classmate Charlie Rice died in his home, 42 Monmouth St., Springfield, Mass., on August 30 after a long period of ill health. Shorty Edwards, a fellow townsman, represented our class at the funeral services, and the sympathy of his classmates has been forwarded to Mrs. Rice. In another section of the MAGAZINE will be found a statement of his life and activities.

Bob Heneage, son of Rip, defeated Harold Hillman, son of Coach Hillman, in the final of the Hampshire state junior golf tournament at Hanover on July 25.
