April 1943 HENRY R. LANE, JOHN R. MCLANE

Bruno Kimball's son, Lt. W. R. Kimball Jr., gets the limelight this month. Note the smile on the face of Bruno Jr., and the sword in his belt. The picture was taken on his wedding day! After two years of R.O.T.C. in the Ogden High School, Ogden, Utah, followed by a R.O.T.C. course in Field Artillery at Stanford University, young Kimball received his commission in the Army Reserve. His sword was awarded him at Stanford by the Army for outstanding work there. Graduating from Stanford in 1941, he reported to the 48th Field Artillery at Fort Ord, California, and a year later was promoted to a first lieutenancy. He is still with this battalion and for ten weeks last fall was umpire at the Army maneuvers in the desert in eastern California. Last June he married Miss Collier Carter, also a Stanford student. Her uncle was John Laing 'OS.

Bruno Kimball reports that he and his family are leaving Los Angeles and will reside hereafter, until further notice, at 2810 Fillmore Avenue, Ogden, Utah. DEATHS OF PARENTS

Notice of the passing of parents of two classmates has been received recently. Bill Smart's mother had spent a long and productive life in Canaan, N. H. Her death took place a few weeks before her 90th birthday. Charles T. Main, father of Charlie Main '07, died at his Winchester, Mass., home early in March. He had continued his life activity as a leading industrial engineer until shortly before his passing at the age of 87.
