In the annual election of representatives to the Dartmouth Alumni Council from the five districts of the country there is this year only one contest. Ballots were mailed last month from the Alumni Association offices in Hanover to all graduates of the College of more than three years' standing residing in the Central States District. In this section, comprising the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin, there is a contest for election between Louis E. Leverone 'O4 of Chicago, William D. Knight 'OB of Rockford, and Henry K. Urion 'is of Chicago. The election polls close June 10 when the ballots will be counted and the winner will be announced at the Commencement Luncheon in Hanover, June 19. Jess B. Hawley '09 retires in June from representation of this section on the Council.

In the other districts Carl Woods '04 of Boston will again represent the New England States for a second term of three years; Edwin R. Bartlett '04 of Niagara Falls has also been reelected from the Middle and Southern States district; two new western councilors to take office June 30 are Charles W. McKenzie '20 of St. Louis, succeeding Leigh C. Turner '04 of St. Louis, for the Western States district; and Chauncey W. Baxter '10 of Tacoma, succeeding Bishop Walter T. Sumner '98 of Portland, in the Rocky Mt. and Pacific States district.

Commencement Meetings

The Council will hold its June meetings in Hanover during the first two days of Commencement, June 16 and 17. Wm. J. Minsch '07 is president of the organization this year and will preside at the annual gatherings which will include business sessions and a dinner with President Hopkins.
