E. E. Day '05, Hoover appointee to the Agenda Committee for the London Economic Conference in June, was the principal speaker before the Intercollegiate Model London Economic Conference which was held in Hanover on April 14 and 15. Delegates from eleven New England colleges heard Mr. Day discuss the actual Conference and the world economic situation. War debts and financial and economic policies were debated by the delegates, and recommendations for world recovery and stability were finally voted.
Dartmouth, as host, represented England, with Lyman E. Wakefield '33, of Minneapolis, acting as Prime Minister MacDonald. Other-colleges represented were Wellesley, Mount Holyoke, Connecticut College for Women, Harvard, Williams, M.1.T., New Hampshire, Vermont, Bates, and Northeastern.
The conference closed on Saturday with a tea dance and a banquet at the D.O.C. clubhouse.
