Parkhurst Reappointed
October 1934

Richard Parkhurst '16, son of Dartmouth's senior trustee and benefactor, was reappointed this summer as vice-chairman and secretary of the Boston Port Authority for a term of five years. Mr. Parkhurst's reappointment was strongly backed by the Boston Marine Guide, which pointed out to the Governor and Council of Massachusetts the notable success of Mr. Parkhurst's past term. As vice-chairman and secretary of the Boston Port Authority, Mr. Parkhurst has given his full time to the position, without compensation, and has administered the affairs of the Port of Boston on a strictly non-political basis.
