Four new members were added to the 1937 Dartmouth News Board: Frank K. Danzig, New York City; Cedric H. Jaggard, Montclair, N. J.; Robert R. Taylor, West-field, N. J.; and Charles K. Zelle, Spring-field, Ill.

Dick Heneage '38, of Hanover, defeated Thomas F. vonTacky '37, of Titusville, Pa. one up on the 37th hole, after being three down at 14th, to annex the College open golf title.

The College tennis championship changed hands as Paul L. Guibord '36 of Melrose, Mass., unexpectedly and decisively downed title-holder Bob Husted '35, o£ Poughkeepsie, N. Y„ 6-0, 6-1, 6-4. An unwieldly mob of 707 freshmen (entire class) took the field against 56 sophomores (The Dartmouth's estimate), and by brute strength steam-rolled a 4-0 victory in the traditional Freshman-Sophomore football rush, thus winning their right to do away with all restrictions imposed by Palaeopitus except the hat rule. Also according to tradition, they afterwards raided the Nuggett, but were repelled by pass-toteing Palaeopiti and (the Nugget becoming modernized) by tear-gas.

Wheeler Hall, exhibiting on a make-shift litter a small wet pig, labeled "Dam Handsome," took the prize in the annual Delta Alpha parade, which, contrary to tradition, was held on the week-end of the Vermont game after a downpour on the afternoon of the Norwich affair necessitated its postponement.

Bernard R. Alex, of Greenfield, Mass., was chosen freshman football captain.

The three newly elected cheerleaders for this year are: Horace M. Huffman Jr., Dayton, Ohio; Richard H. Morton, Hyde Park, Mass.; and Brinton T. Schorer, West Hartford, Conn., all members of the Class of 1936.
