Robert H. Michelet '34, of Washington, D. C., was named as one of the four Rhodes Scholars from the New England region at a meeting of the scholarship committee in Boston on January 8. Prior to the regionalselections, Michelet and Emerson Day '34, °£ Bronxville, N. Y., had been named as candidates from New Hampshire by a committee of which President Hopkins was chairman.
Michelet, who has been a guard on the varsity football team for three seasons, is a Senior Fellow and is following his own line of study in history. He is president of alaeopitus and of the senior class, and last year was head of Green Key. His is a memof Phi Beta Kappa, having an average of 3-6a6 for the six semesters preceding his e ection as a Senior Fellow, of Psi Upsilon fraternity, and of Casque and Gauntlet. He is a board member of The Junto and was recently honored with membership in the Undergraduate Fire Squad.
Michelet is one of the outstanding athletes on the Dartmouth campus, being captain of the track team in addition to his football activities. He was captain of the freshman football team in 1930, and was awarded the William S. Churchill Prize as the outstanding member of the freshman class. He prepared for Dartmouth at Mercersburg Academy.
