Dartmouth took undisputed possessionof first place in the Quadrangular HockeyLeague by defeating Princeton, p to 7, inBaker rink on February 24, in a wild, free-scoring contest that was finally decided inthe second overtime period. Harvard's surprisingvictory over Yale on the same nightassured the Green sextet of at least a tie forfirst in the final standings.

Dartmouth's first line—Wilbur Powers,Frank Spain, and Paul Guibord—combinedtwice in the second overtime period to givethe Indians their winning margin. WithPrinceton's star, Art Lane, in the penaltybox, Powers took a pass from Spain to scoreat 8:10, and 45 seconds later Spain clinchedmatters by scoring on a double pass fromGuibord and Powers.

Defensive tactics were thrown to thewinds during most of the game, and thelargest crowd that ever assembled for ahockey game in Hanover saw five mendown the ice time after time. Each teamcame from behind twice. Princeton led 2-0at the end of the first period, but Dart-mouth rolled up four goals in the secondsession and maintained the lead untilPrinceton's tally at 19:00 in the last periodbrought the score to 5-all. Each team scoredtwice in the first overtime session, firstPrinceton and then Dartmouth leading,and with Lane in the penalty box, theGreen first line finally settled the issue.
