Why the Team Was Picked—

NOT LONG AGO Dr. Howard N. (Bush) Kingsford, medical director of the College since 1902, said that he thought that the perseverance and peculiar abilities of some of Dartmouth's distinguished gents of the alumni should be recognized by the formation of an "All-Time Medical Director's Team." As the last authority on this matter Bush was asked to serve as the Walter Camp of sick excuse applicants. Expressing himself in formal terms Bush said: "From time to time it has been customary to publish an AilTime Team of some sort, such as baseball, football, etc. As far as I know, an All-Time Medical Director's Team has never been published. Therefore I elect the above eleven men as the members of this team with C. C. Hills '05 as captain.

How the Team Was Chosen

In proof of the excellent reasons why the members of the team were picked for this honor Bush said: "These men had together while in college one hundred and eighty-three sick excuses. The greatest number of sick excuses for a single man was twenty-eight. One man had his appendix out three times. One had twelve eye examinations. One had fifteen excuses, all for different ailments."

These are enviable records and the lucky recipients of Doc's honor have evidently earned their laurels.

Lest there be any feeling about this thing Bush had the following to say about disappointed candidates: "In order that no one will feel slighted I will say that there are several others eligible for this team."

Present Condition of the Invalids

"To the best of my knowledge, all of these men are in perfect health at this time." This statement by Dr. Kingsford came as a distinct shock to the editors. They had supposed that such a group of sufferers had continued their ailments into stages where they would now be tottering toward early graves, palsied by recurrences, of college illnesses. Bush says that these men had miraculous recoveries after leaving his office. He is proud of a strong, husky team. fully deserving its immortality in Dartmouth's record of fame.
