Fund Reports Gain
June 1934

A gain of 21 per cent in receipts and 19 per cent in contributors over a similar period last year was reported by the Alumni Fund Committee on May 21. Total receipts at the end of the fourth week of the ten-week campaign were $33,576.99, almost exactly half of last year's total of $67,200, and the total number of contributors had reached 1,682, making an average contribution of $19.96.

Contributions up to May 21 had been received from 66 classes, as well as from the Medical School, Tuck School, and faculty. In the standing of classes, 1871 led with 88 per cent of its members contributing. The class of 1879 with 73 per cent, 1884 with 59 per cent, and 1870 with 50 per cent followed in order.

The class of 1916, in ninth place, led the classes after 1898; while 1930, in 27th place, led the youngest classes and also topped all others in actual number of contributors with 96. Close on the heels of 1930 was 1932 with 90 gifts. One contribution listed for 1934 is the gift made in the name of Bob Michelet by a man who never met Michelet and who has never seen the College.
