Laurence G. Leavitt '25 was recently appointed headmaster of Vermont Academy, a preparatory school for boys at Saxtons River. He goes to his new post after eight years at Tabor Academy, where he has taught history and held the administrative positions of assistant headmaster and director of the summer school.

Following his graduation from Dartmouth in 1925, Leavitt received his Master s degree from Teachers' College, Columbia University, in the field of secondary school education. While at Dartmouth, he played fullback on the varsity football team for three years and was awarded the Barrett Cup in his senior year. In 1926 he married Miss Dorothy Hall, daughter of Mrs. E. K. Hall and the late E. K. Hall '92, and has a son and daughter.
