Solicitation of class dues and magazine ■subscriptions is difficult, but it has its compensations. Brief notes from classmates are received in substantial numbers and are most welcome:

Al White writes from St. Louis that there isn't much to be said about himself 01 his family except that they are all well and his business isn't too bad Ted Glattfeld reports an uncomfortable summer teaching at the University of Chicago (I think he refers to the heat, not to the teaching) and a pleasant September in Northern Michigan Herb Mitchell encloses "3 bucks" and speaks of his son, Hamilton 8., in the sophomore class Leon Sprague promises his life history later. It ought to make interesting reading Bishop Washburn writes modestly that there is nothing of particular interest to his classmates about his activities. It is good news to know that he has recovered from the illness reported in the last MAGAZINE Jack Wallace and Jerry Macdonald both report "all well andhappy." Jerry has three boys "all strongfor Dartmouth." .... Langley writes from Montgomery, Ala., that he has recently become connected with the Bureau of Public Roads in that city Bob Stokes' daughter, Miriam, graduated from Mount Holyoke last June and has returned as an assistant in the department of zoology. She is also working for her Master's degree. Her sister Barbara is a junior at the same college. Son Bob expects to be a member of the class of 1943 Cully Pierce and his family enjoyed a vacation trip around the Gaspe Peninsula this summer and a brief visit in Hanover on the return trip. Cully and Tod Plummer carry on in Newton real estate

Judge McLane's classmates will be very sorry to learn of the'death of his brother Clinton recently.

The October ALUMNI MAGAZINE was sent to the entire class list, non-graduates as well as graduates. Send the Secretary-Treasurer three dollars for class dues, and you will receive the MAGAZINE for the full college year.
