Volume 10 of Collected Papers from theDepartment of Biology of the School ofHygiene and Public Health of The JohnsHopkins University has just appeared. This volume contains 17 papers. Dr. Raymond Pearl '99 is the author of four of these papers as follows: Second ProgressReport on a Study of Family Limitation,Constitutional Factors in Longevity, Review of "La fertilita dei biotipi. Saggio didemografia constituzionalistica," by Marcella Boldrini, and Contraception andFertility in 4945 Married Women. D. C. Heath and Company have recently published Founders and Leaders of Connecticut, 1633-1783, edited by Charles Edward Perry. This volume contains: ASketch of John Mason by Louis P. Benezet '99 and also A Sketch of William Ledyard by the same author; A Sketch of ThomasKnowlton by Orlando C. Davis '07; ASketch of Benedict Arnold by Warren S. Tryon '23; an article The Founding of aNew England Town by Ernest W. Butterf ield '97. Professor James Dow McCallum contributes a brief sketch of Eleazar Wheelock to this volume.

Vermont's System of Education. Reportof a Special Commission Named by Governor Wilson with Its Conclusions and Recommendations, December 1934 a pamphlet of 151 pages, has just been published by the State of Vermont. Don C. Bliss '92 is the Executive Secretary of this Commission and wrote the larger part of the report.
The Colorado Poetry Week FellowshipInc. has been sponsoring prizes for poems which by popular vote are considered the best published every week in their page of verse. Philip Wendall Crannell '82 has just been awarded one of the prizes for his poem Why I Stay.
