February 1935 —JOHN W. LAFFEY '29,

Since our last bulletin much news has crowded into the calendar.

December 12, the clan gathered at the apartment of Jack Thompson '33 to celebrate Dartmouth night. Needless to say spirit was high at this gathering due to the occasion of reaffirming our loyalty to the college.

On the 27th the annual Christmas luncheon was held at the Mark Twain. Alumni, undergraduates, prospective students and guests brought the total number of people in attendance to forty-seven. Harry Deckert, a senior this year, reviewed football for us; Frank Cornwell spoke as a representative of the class of '35; Bill Curtis for the class of '36; Ben Gutman for '37 and Ed Grace for '38. Fred Hollingsworth in the class of '38 gave us the lowdown on freshman football. The event of the luncheon, however, was Danny Kerwin's talka super piece of extemporaneous (so he says) speech making. Touching on the undergraduates in attendance, Dan had something of interest to tell about each.

The new officers for the year were introduced at this luncheon, so here they are:

President, JOHN W. LAFFEY '29; VicePresident, PETE GRACE '33; Sec. & Treas., TOM CURTIS '32.

The retiring Secretary is writing this as his parting shot at the job but leaves it in the best of hands.

January 4th was selected as the date for the first Smoker of the new year. On their own suggestion the undergraduates played host and did so most admirably. Frank Cornwell '35 lent the rathskellar of his home for the occasion—a most appropriate and well appointed spot. Everything was arranged so well we are anxious for Frank and his brethren seniors to join our ranks and so be available in maintaining the unity now so characteristic of the St. Louis Group.

Secretary.
