As I understand it, the Green Ml. Parkway will take one-fifth of the territory of the State directly through the whole length, thereby completely dividing our state into two parts, East Vermont and West Vermont and we would have to cross United States territory to get from one part to the other, and they want to own all marginal farms besides. Now here is a question I would like to ask the Easy Chair. Is it barely possible that these powers are using these means to get control of Vermont which has not pleased them very much in the past?

How is it they are so much interested in our marginal farms? Are they taking the same interest in the mountains of the South? How much more territory is our legislature going to let them have? What I say against these plotters against Vermont don't equal my contempt for Vermont citizens of high station, who favor their schemes, that is beyond expression.
