The Dartmouth Plaque for freshman scholarship has been awarded this ye.ar to the Scarsdale High School, of Scarsdale, N. Y., whose delegation of five men achieved a first-semester average of 2.96, it was announced early in March by Robert C. Strong, dean of freshmen and director of admissions. The members of the winning delegation, all residents of Scarsdale, are Robert H. Frese Jr., Walter A. Fuller Jr., Austin R. Grant, Blaine W. Mallory, and Harold F. Rasmussen.
Second honors among the delegations of three or more men in the freshman class went to Loomis School, of Windsor, Conn., with a seven-man average of 2.8. The six representatives of Horace Mann School, New York, finished in third place with a general average of 2.7, and the same number from Columbia High School, of South Orange and Maplewood, N. J., took fourth honors with 2.63. Fifth place went to Boston Latin School with a four-man average of 2.6, sixth place to Andover Academy with an eleven-man average of 2.49, and seventh place to Central High School, of Manchester, N. H., with a four-man average of 2.45.
