AT THE ANNUAL meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Southern California at the University Club, Los Angeles, the following officers were elected for this coming year.

Richard B. Merrill 'OB, President', Leon I. Rothschild '24, ist Vice President; N. S. (Zack) Jordon '2l, 2d Vice President; John Lyman '2B, 3d Vice President; Walter D. Douglas, II '3l, Secretary, Robert G. Sands '33, Treasurer-, Robert L. Collins '29, Assistant Secretary; Francis J. McEntee '29, Assistant Treasurer.

It will be noticed that after eight years of back-breaking work our genial Secretary, Leon Rothschild, has been finally rewarded with the position entailing slightly less detailed work. The Association expresses its deep gratitude for the tremendous amount of work he did and the great loyalty he has shown during his term as Secretary.

The summer activities of the Southern California Alumni Association reached their peak on August 22, when a group of some thirty hardy spirits met at The Uplifters Club to spend the afternoon in various forms of out-of-door activities and a barbecued steak dinner afterwards. The prize for psychic bridge bidding went to Bob Thieme 'l6, who used Vick Salinger 'OO as his punishment-absorbing stooge. They were ably abetted by prize kibitzer, Tubby Laton 'O6.

In a spirited seven-inning baseball game between the undergraduates and graduates, a team of old-timers lead by Jim Norton 'OB, ably abetted by such stellar material as Kid Richardson 'OB, Bob Collins '29, and Bob Sands '33, defeated the undergraduates, captained by Johnny Merrill '37, and Bob Archibald '3B, to the tune of 23 to 16. It appeared to be a hollow victory, however, as the old timers, the next day, were suffering from various sprains, aches, and other injuries denoting the ravages of time.

The party, as a whole, was a great success and afforded a good opportunity for both undergraduates and alumni really to get together.
