ALUMNI COUNCIL MEETS IN NEW YORK; HOPKINS FUND GIVEN;FRESHMAN DISTRIBUTION; ALUMNI WIN N. H. OFFICES
The annual fall meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Council was held at The Roosevelt, New York City, on November 20, with Richard E. Pritchard '14, of New Britain, Conn., presiding. Officers of the College who attended the sessions were Lloyd K. Neidlinger '23, dean of the Col- lege; Robert C. Strong '24, dean of fresh- men and director of admissions; and Albert I. Dickerson '30, executive assistant to the President.
A discussion of fraternity affairs was led by Fletcher R. Andrews '16, in the absence of Clarence G. McDavitt '00, chairman of the special committee of seven appointed to study alumni aspects of the problem and to make a report to the Council at this meeting. Other reports include those by Warren C. Kendall '99 for the Nominating Committee; Sigurd S. Larmon '14 for the Alumni Fund Committee; John W. Hubbell '21 for the Committee on Admissions and Schools; Benjamin W. Couch '96 for the Committee on Alumni Projects; and Richard E. Pritchard '14 for the Executive Committee. William H. McCarter '19, acting Supervisor of Athletics, led a discussion of athletic matters.
Following the afternoon session, members of the Alumni Council attended a reception at the home of Basil O'Connor '12. Many members of the Council attended the Dartmouth-Princeton football game on the following day.
