A portrait of the late Henry H. Metcalf, Honorary 1913, the gift of his son, Harry B. Metcalf '93, to the Sullivan County, New Hampshire, Bar Association, recently was hung in the county court house at Newport.
At the time of his death Mr. Metcalf was the oldest member of the state bar association. An address upon his career was given by Henry N. Hurd '94 on the occasion of the unveiling of the portrait, and Judge Elwin L. Page, presiding, told of his personal acquaintance with Mr. Metcalf in the latter's last years. At the same meeting of the bar association a portrait of the late Hermon Holt '70 was unveiled, with an address by Judge Henry S. Richardson '96.
Around New Hampshire: State Senator A. L. Calef goes to the Democratic national convention at Philadelphia as an alternate district delegate. .... Rev. and Mrs. Frank N. Saltmarsh were in the receiving line at the annual Junior Prom of Pinkerton Academy, Derry, of which school Mr. Saltmarsh is a trustee Mr. and Mrs. Samuel P. C., which was the only game the varsity won on its spring trip of that year.
The issue of The Dartmouth reporting that ball game announced the election of these '93 class officers: president, Phelps; vice president, Dascomb; secretary, McKay; treasurer, Russell. Sals and Kinney represented the class at the funeral of Brigham in St. Albans, Vt. Billy Jarvis gave a guitar solo, "Siege of Sebastopol," at the annual glee club concert.
