Dartmouth alumni contributed $106,847.16 to the College during the 1937 Alumni Fund campaign, conducted by the Alumni Council from May 1 to June 30, and set a new, all-time record for the number of contributors, it was revealed in the recent report of Sigurd S. Larmon 'l4, chairman of the Fund Committee. Funds contributed by 7,942 alumni prevented a deficit of $79,540.22 for the academic year 1936-37 and provided $21,571.17 to be applied toward the unfinanced balance on the Dartmouth Hall reconstruction.
The 7,942 alumni who contributed to the Fund this year represented 72 per cent of the living graduates of the College, one per cent less than the high water marks of 1926 and 1927. Since those years, however, the body of living alumni has increased by almost 50 per cent. This year's figures for the Fund represent a gain of $12,192.38 or 12 per cent over last year in the amount contributed and a gain of 399 or 1 per cent in the number of contributors.

Twenty-eight classes were among those which attained 100 per cent'or more of their financial objective. These were led by 1879, with 2206 per cent, followed by 1881, 1892, 1887, 1884, 1889, 1894, 1901, 1876, 1898, 1886, 1878, 1877, 1911, 1930, 1926, 1897, 1921, 1885, 1900, 1914, 1888, 1903, 1882, 1913, 1917, 1919 and 1925, The Class of 1911 led all classes in the amount contributed, with a total of $4,494.00.
The General Fund, as of June 30, 1937, showed a balance of 1116,965.00, while the Charles H. Gould Memorial Fund showed a balance of $47,052.53. Both funds are invested with the Associated Endowments of the College.
