The final dual meet of the season for the Big Green runners took place October 24 against Harvard over the Franklin Park course. The Indians, led by Captain Mike Morrissey, placed five runners among the top eight to win by a narrow 26-31 score. Morrissey finished first for Dartmouth, Wally Ashnault took fourth, Dick Hogarty sixth, Walt Clarkson seventh and Bill Andre eighth. Thus in four dual meets with Holy Cross, B.U., Army and Harvard the Indians lost only to Army.

Dartmouth ran into Army again on November 7 at the Heptagonals which were held in Van Cortland Park, New York. The Cadets made a clean sweep of the ten-team meet as predicted, while Dartmouth settled for sixth place. Mike Morrissey again led the Indians home as he took a 7th, with Wally Ashnault 31st, Hogarty 32nd, Ritner 34th and Andre 36th. Wally Ciarkson was spilled at the start and took 52nd place in the field of 70. With an early winter track season ahead, a lot of hour exams and generally poor running conditions in Hanover, Coach Ellie Noyes wisely decided to withdraw the Dartmouth team from the IC4A meet in New York on November 17. And thus another fall sport finished up just about as expected.
