Lane's death is noted in the Necrology column. He was the fourth member of the class to go within the year. He followed only a month after his wife.

The following message has been received from his family: "We wish to express ourappreciation to the Dartmouth class ofiByB for the beautiful roses. Father waslooking forward to the next reunion ofIBJB'S." (Signed) Gilbert, Merton, and Sylvia Lane.

Of these signers, Gilbert is superintendent of the Philadelphia Rubber Cos. at Akron, Ohio, Merton is superintendent of Rubber-bonded Grinding Wheels, a department of Bay State Abrasive Products, Inc., with headquarters at Providence, and Sylvia, who has been the companion of her parents, teaches music.

Bouton and Harlow being in New England for the summer, Harlow proposed a meeting of the eastern contingent of the class. Accordingly Bouton, Harlow, Parkhurst, and Parkinson met at the Union Club, Boston, September a. Gray was expected and Sully was hoped for, but the latter sent regrets and at the last moment came a telegram from Gray: "Tough luck.Going to hospital tonight. Love to boys." That sounded rather alarming and cast something of a shadow over the gathering, but a cheerful message was returned, as follows: "Good luck to yourself. Sendingour centerpiece. Hurry back from hospital." (Signed) The Octogenarian Quartette. It has since been learned that Gray is in for an operation which his family regard as a minor one and over which they have little anxiety.

The quartet enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at Parkhurst's charge, exchanging reminiscences and experiences, discussing plans and prospects for reunion in June, reading Hayt's latest letter, passing around a copy of the Cushing Academy Bulletin containing an interesting biographical sketch of Lane and an exceptionally fine likeness of him and his wife seated together.

Harvey's street address in Carthage, Mo., has changed to 830 Howard St.

Ike Paul's grandson, son of Richard 'll, is in the freshman class. Another grandson, Paul B. Urion, is now a senior. A count of class grandsons would be interesting, but would be difficult to make because daughter's sons are not easily identified.
