LONG SHOTS WIN FOR YALE

Dartmouth was not so fortunate at New Haven on the 13th, but Coach Cowles felt that the improvement went on, with some very exceptional long shots proving too much for the Big Green.

The return to 1936 form by ace Bill Thomas has been one of the prime reasons for the sudden spurt upwards taken by the Indian basketeers. Bill's total read 15 against Yale at Carnival time, 10 against Harvard at Cambridge, and 12 against Yale at New Haven. Steady playing qualities by Bob MacLeod, Joe Cottone, Joe Batchelder, Moose Dudis, Jack Dingle and Hal Parachini, have contributed greatly and our last interview with Coach Cowles revealed him smiling from ear to ear with the feeling that the basketball "gang" has worked hard and come a long way. Seven E. I. League contests remain on the schedule and with any luck whatever, Dartmouth may leave the fourth place position she now rests in, but not in peace, to pass some of the early leaders in the race.
