ON APRIL 19th the Alumni Association of Southern California turned out approximately 125 strong, for their annual dinner, honoring President Hopkins, who was on his Western Coast Tour, and Sidney Hayward. It was a fine turnout with a great many familiar faces, both young and old, ranging in classes from 1935 to 1887.

Lack of space prevents listing all the familiar names, however, they did include Dr. Frank Bracket '87, Tubby La ton '06, Vic Salinger '00, Dr. Walter Adams '98, Frank Rolfe '24, Dave Bradley '03, Ray Bennett ' 13, Sam Hobbs '12, Bud Schulberg '36, Maurice Rapf '35, Bob Guggenheim '33, Paul Sample '20, and many others.

President Hopkins and Sidney Hayward both talked and gave us a very interesting picture of the College, covering both curricular and extra curricular activities, the present status and all the future plans now under way.

A resolution honoring Zeeb Gilman of Redlands, class of 1863, who is now the oldest living alumnus of Dartmouth was presented and accepted by the Association.

Officers for the ensuing year were elected, the slate being as follows: president, Leon I. Rothschild '24; Ist vice president, Murray W. Hawkins '19; 2d vice president, James T. Durkee '17; secretary, Walter Donald Douglas II '31; treasurer, Robert G. Sands '33; assistant sec. & treas., Francis J. McEntee '39.

On the 20th, we had our regular luncheon with both President Hopkins and Sid Hayward attending, and were able to have a more intimate discussion of the College with a group of about 40 men.

The Association is now planning a large summer meeting to include all undergraduates from our group and men who are entered for next fall, or who anticipate entering in the near future.
