A meeting of Dartmouth men in the Merrimack Valley was held at the Vesper Country Club, Wednesday night, October 5, under the auspices of the Lowell Alumni Association. Craven Laycock was the guest and principal speaker, and gave one of the most impressive talks we have ever heard. Although retired from active work in the College, his grasp and knowledge of present-day conditions was very marked, and the talk was expressed in the usual "Craven style," crisp and forceful, but all the while, full of humor, pathos, and sentiment. Permanent organization of the Craven Laycock Association of Dartmouth Men in the Merrimack Valley was perfected, and our own "Bill" O'Leary was elected president (and by the way, do you realize what a remarkable family the new president has? Three sons graduated from Dartmouth, two daughters from Simmons, and a third girl just entered there). Deacon Hildreth and the Secretary were also present at the meeting.
Mary Bishop has been elected fire captain of Cushing House at Smith College.
