THE FOURTH AND FINAL outing of the season (this one in honor of our perennial Bridgeton, N. J., host, Doc Sewall '99) took place at the Bala Golf Club on October 6, a total of 26 men participating. Low gross was taken by Charlie Kehoe '34 with a 75, low net by Steve Rutherford 'OB with a 69, and the kicker's handicap by Mony Monahan '24 with a 76. Under the strenuous and talented leadership of Hugh Kenworthy '11 the informal part of the evening reached a fitting and thoroughly appropriate climax when the decision was made to telephone Fred Shaneman '24, former Philadelphian now located in Tacoma, Wash. The poor pay station groaned under the weight of the quarters that were fed into it (we hadn't realized Dartmouth men were so bloated with silver before) and the connection was finally made to the great relief of the operators at the Philadelphia long distance office, who had to take the combined witticisms of 26 men. Latest reports have it that the telephone company is still looking for some overtime money. Anyway, whatever was spent or not spent, the entertainment was worth the effort expended on our part.
