THE ST. LOUIS Club again spread the good news about Dartmouth to several of prep and high schools this year, through the showing of the Dartmouth movies. Tom Curtis '32, Clark Schmidt '33, Hugh Logan '34, Bill Rench '34, and Harry Deckert '35 turned to be a versatile crew of narrators and camera operators, showing the pictures from all angles including the backwards. The interest aroused by the pictures is best evidenced by the increasing enrollment and applications from this dis- trict.
The December smoker was held at the home of Bus May '36, where we got a chance to see the pictures ourselves. A solid coating of ice one inch thick which blotted out our Missouri landscape held down the attendance with the result that the May family had to eat the same food for seventeen days in order to finish up the delicious vittles. Great regret at missing the affair has been expressed by our country members.
Two of our members have taken a flier at this matrimony stuff recently. Bus May married Miss Katharine Amstein on Dec. 30th. Bill Rench took the vows with Miss Harriet Suydam, who comes from some place back East called New Jersey, on Monday, January 3rd. If a few more happy homes develop for the rest of us to drink beers in, Dartmouth will soon be out the bars.
The annual Christmas luncheon for undergraduates, prospective students, alumni, and friends of the college was held on Dec. 29th at the Missouri Athletic Ass'n. President Clark Schmidt '33 presided. As usual the undergraduates gave us the low down on what was happening in school. Fred Hollingworth '38 gave an interesting talk on the football club and their battles. Harvey Rohde '39, Don Tenney '40, Mike Gross '4 1and Bill Reeder '41, also gave some highlights of the Hanover scene. We had the largest turnout in our history, some 62 attending.
We're still doing business at the usual luncheon spot in the Versailles Room of the Hotel Mark Twain on Saturday noons.
