Dartmouth Night
April 1938

Perpetuating one of the traditional features of the Dartmouth Night celebration in Hanover, Dean Emeritus Laycock read telegraphic greetings from 46 different alumni groups in this country and abroad at the ceremonies in Webster Hall on March 3. The most distant tribute received was from the Dartmouth Club of France, and one of those most warmly received by undergraduates was from the Dartmouth group in Miami which included "Spud" Bray, campus inspector, who is on vacation regaining his health.

Wires were read from the Dartmouth Alumni Associations of Eastern Pennsylvania, Western Massachusetts (Springfield), St. Louis, Florida (St. Petersburg), Northern California, Philadelphia, Oregon, Boston, the Southwest (Dallas), the Great Divide (Denver), Washington, D. C., Connecticut, Chicago, Vermont, Rhode Island, Westchester County (N. Y.), Eastern New York (Albany), Nashua, and the Northwest (Minneapolis and St. Paul). Greetings were also read from the Dartmouth Clubs of Northern New Jersey, Holyoke, Western Pennsylvania, Baltimore, Rochester, N. Y., Rochester, Minn., Tulsa, Georgia, New York City, Cleveland, Bridgeport, Western Connecticut, Hartford, New Britain, Waterbury and Naugatuck Valley, Berkshire County (Mass.), Lowell, Virginia, Detroit, Central Pennsylvania, Rockford, Maine (Portland), and Worcester. Alumni groups in Ann Arbor, Mich., Charlottesville, Va„ and Miami, Fla., also sent greetings.
