DARTMOUTH NIGHT celebration held with attendance of about 75 Hal Fitz '23 gave a perfect rendition of "The Treasurer's Report," made immortal by Robert Benchley, adapting the locale and personnel to our Association Because of Buck Freeman's '13 sore throat or stiff neck, Barry Sullivan read the report of the historian, which was largely an enumeration of the railway guide and the places visited by Warren Kendall '99 in his trips around the country rounding up freight cars W. J. Wallis '94 was guest of honor in recognition of his coming retirement from the service of the public schools of Washington .... head of the mathematics department for some years and a friend and advisor of hundreds of high school students, many of whom went to Dartmouth .... best of all, he doesn't look his age and hasn't a gray hair Another honored guest was Charlie Milham '06, alumni councilman from Williamsburg, Va new officers of the Association, Dave McCoy '18, president; Fred Pearce '15, executive vice president; Hon. Wendell P. Stafford '01, Hon. Alfred A. Wheat '89, Hon. Styles Bridges, Hon. Fred Brown, and Professor Roswell F. Magill '16, honorary vice presidents; W. F. Barto '29, secretary-treasurer; and the executive committee, W. J. Wallis '94, Herb Woods '10, F. Stirling Wilson '16, Howland Sargent '32 and N. Page Worthington '33 Plans for annual banquet with President Hopkins as guest on April 4 going forward Page Worthington '33 won the prize for most regular attendance at weekly luncheonsa two-quart bottle of cooking whiskey .... the bowling team of the Association is leading the intercollegiate league, having taken six straight games in the past two weeks from Brown and Yale . . . . the Yale boys tried to pull out a tie in the last ten seconds, but Worthington rolled a spare for his last box. .... Pimper, captain of the team, finally came out of hiding since the team reached the top .... local committee assisting Warren Kendall look over candidates for next year's freshmen class finds promising crop of bright youngsters Phillips '41 leading Washington freshmen (or am I letting out a secret?) Clarence Opper '18 now member of Board of Tax Appeals, as modest and friendly as ever .... altho he is a big shot in these parts .... spring weather persists in Washington, with jasmine already in bloom and forsythia on the way .... we hope to see Baltimore alumni at our dinner April 4th Johnnie Johnson '15, who used to travel through Washington regularly and attend our luncheons, but who hasn't been seen for years, was at our Dartmouth Night dinner and got a glad hand from everybody .... after the dinner there was competition with the professional singers in the Anchor Room, and some of the alumni wives dropped in, getting in practice to accompany their husbands to Hanover reunions .... much cheering here for the basketball champs. .... Wharton, sophomore from Washington, scored in the pole vault at the intercollegiate track meet in New York Larry Pope '18 is going off the deep end, and taking a wife March 12, all the way from Portland, Oregon.
