STEPS TOWARD the establishment of a revolving fund, which will be turned over to the committee on scholarships and loans annually, were taken by the Rhode Island Dartmouth Alumni Association at its annual meeting and dinner at the University Club in Providence, March 18.

Following an address by the guest of honor, Prof. Francis A. J. Neef, chairman of the committee on scholarships and loans at the College, R. F. Haffenreffer 3d '25, president of the Rhode Island Association, appointed a committee to devise ways and means of raising a revolving fund in Providence. He appointed Ralph H. Koelb, Robert H. Smith, and Edmund F. Carey.

Attended by nearly 60 alumni, this meeting was one of the most enthusiastic in the history of the Rhode Island association. Professor Neef explained the functions of his committee and pointed out how alumni groups can assist in it.

The club applauded the record established by Asa G. Randall '92 whose presence at the meeting marked the 30th year he has attended a Rhode Island Dartmouth dinner. He has missed only one in the history of the association.

Tribute was paid to the memory of William B. Slater '14, a former president of the club and active Dartmouth graduate, who died in Hanover last fall.

A nominating committee of Maxwell C. Huntoon, Jesse K. Fenno and Mr. Smith named the present slate of officers for reelection. They are: R. F. Haffenreffer '25, president; Adam A. Sutcliffe '15, vice president; John R. Aborn '22, secretary; and Louis E. Grover '23, treasurer. These were re-elected and the following executive committee was elected: T. R. Montgomery '18 and R. H. Koelb '20, L. H. C. Huntoon '10, Smith and J. R. Fenno '16.

Several members of the Rhode Island association attended the Dartmouth-Brown hockey game at the Auditorium in Providence late in the Winter. A committee from the association interviewed nearly 25 applicants for admission this year.
