Inasmuch as this issue is going out to every member of the class, considerable space is being given to matters especially concerning every member of the class, in particular our 25th, in 1940. First off we make mention of the questionnaire sent out in December. Whether or no you have made your decision as to attendance, fill out and return the questionnaire at once, either to Bill Huntress or the Secretary. We really need the information asked for thereon, and assure you that nothing from your answers will be used against you. And just to give you an inkling of what is happening in this world of ours, we might say that from the first 62 questionnaires returned 61 asked for reunion reservations for 61 men, 38 wives, and 26 children. Not at all discouraging, says William. Dave Davison tops the list and promises the Governor and Council (of which Dave is a member) as well as himself and family. Next in line came Dick Clarke, Jack Bowler, Paul Gibson, A 1 Bradley, Earl Clough, George Hutchins, Jack Ferguson, John Healy, George Ingalls, Leon Aronowitz, and George Adams. And then follow such names as Loomis, Livingston, Monheimer, Sterling, Wanamaker, A 1 Johnson, O'Day, Ken Smith, Alexander, Llewellyn, Stevens, and Waugh. But more later, and in the meantime fill out and send in that questionnaire, regardless. And once again we quote William, who suggests that in answering give some suggestions as to what your notion of what a real 25th reunion should be. The committees welcome any and all suggestions. They are working seriously and hard,—give them a lift. First of the sub-committees now set for action is that on publicity, Don Bennink, Chrm., assisted by Paul Gibson, Hal Rich, Art Hornblow, Art Sterling, Stick Parnell, and the Secretary (he won't keep out of anything). This committee swear they will not allow you to forget, so you might just as well give in. But send in the questionnaire anyhow.
Down in Wakefield, Mass., he is known as James M., difficult as it may be to believe; as with us he is known only as "Speed." But he must have thrown himself into high this trip, for the press reveals that James M. Henderson with 3180 votes defeated for school committeeman one Harry B. Allman, a member for 21 years and several times chairman, with 1750 votes. "Speed" sure must have been in high, and it is all right with us.
And from Boston we learn of Ashley St. Clair's recent election as assistant vice president of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Cos., with home office at 175 Berkeley St. Ash can be found any time in the claims department, where he seems to have special jurisdiction.
Walt Wanger has been in Hanover during a part of February in connection with the production of his latest picture, "Winter Carnival." And at the same time he has been working with the English Department on a course in scenario writing.
Dale Barker writes of having seen Ed Curtis recently. Ed is the furniture man of Portland, Me., but business finds him in Boston and New York frequently.
And some time back we heard of Roy Norwood, in textiles with the Gardner Hall Jr. Cos., So. Wilmington, Conn. Roy sounds just the same, that's a fact.
We made mention last month of our missing class records. As a result we have located all our class presidents, if not ironclad proof of their election. But unless overruled, we concede that Ed Curtis, Bud Whitney, Bags Wanamaker, Charlie Griffith, Dick Merrill, A 1 Priddy, Ray King, and Kel Rose served in order. With Dick Merrill as chairman, and excepting the late A 1 Priddy, the above will serve as the committee in charge of the memorial service at our 25th. Who is the next to forward us some information which will be of
assistance in bringing our records up to date? 1915 to 1925 is a blank as far as class records go, remember.
And who will match Frank Rohrs' second contribution:
15 UP FOR THE 25TH, YO-HO
A good class man Who's run the span From 'l5 to nigh '4O Lifts high the cup, Boosts fifteen up, Reneging, he is naughty. But no.
A 'l5 man might be a Hun, He might be a rip-snortin' son of a gun Or a soak serene with a haughty bun, But never, oh never, a Naughty One. Yo-ho.
