DARTMOUTH GRADUATES of Wellesley to the number of about sixty met at the Wellesley Country Club on Wednesday evening. After a social hour, meeting old acquaintances and making new ones, a buffet supper was enjoyed. The speaker of the evening was Prof. Allen R. Foley of the History Department at Dartmouth, who commented on the changes in the physical, educational and student situation at Hanover and brought the latest details which always serve as a connecting link between the administration and the men who have attended college in the past. He paid tribute to the movement started two years ago by the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Wellesley to accumulate a scholarship fund for the use of boys from Wellesley who need financial aid.
Following his remarks Bob Gibson, center of the Dartmouth football team for the past three years, showed the complete movies of the Dartmouth-Princeton game last fall and answered questions regarding the team and outlook for the coming season—always an interesting speculation to college men.
Officers for the coming year were elected as follows:
Pres.—Richard M. Nichols '26, treas.— Ernest F. Tillson '2O, sec.—Allan C. Gottschaldt '18; exec, comm.—Alfred A. Adams Jr. '24, Charles F. Tower '2B, Hans Paschen Tuck '2B; Chairman Scholarship FundJames D. Gregg 'l4; Committee of cooperation with prospective Dartmouth students —Arthur W. Chapin 'O6, Clyde G. Morrill 'l2.
In preparation for this meeting the committee comprising Adams '24, Ryder '3O, Gottschaldt 'lB, Linnell '3l and Austin 'l4 prepared a special front page on the regular issue of the Wellesley Townsman of Feb. 24th, using cuts of Hanover subjects, stories of the speakers to come and a column of cracks regarding various Alumni in Wellesley. This issue mailed to everyone on the local mailing list was well received and helped to swell attendance.
With this report of the March 1st meeting and election of officers the undersigned turns over the battered filing case of correspondence to A1 Gottschaldt '18 and resumes his position as a private in the rear rank.
