Bliss has always claimed Biloxi had the most delightful climate and attractive surroundings of any resort in the South. His claim is now substantiated by Doty. A card from him says he and his daughter spent a week with the Blisses and had a most enjoyable time.
I quote from a letter received from Putnam in response to my last obituary letter.
"While it would be far from the truth to say that I enjoy receiving such reports, I certainly am anxious for the knowledge. In my bedroom hangs a picture taken fifty years ago about this time of year. Nine of us, the old T. D. crowd, and now that Sam Baldwin is gone I am the only one that remains. It seems just like a dream with all of life 'like the breath of cattle in the winter.'
"As for myself, I am well as can be expected and hope not to rate an obituary for some time, and am looking forward to 1942 hopefully." So are we.
