1939 Commencement

Advance programs for Commencement, June 16 to 18, will be mailed early in May to all members of reuning classes, which this year include 1879, 1884, 1889, 1894, 1899,1904,1909,1914,1919,1924, 1929, and 1934. According to custom, the Fifty- Year Class, this year the Class of 1889, will be honored at the annual meeting of the Alumni Association on Saturday morning of the Commencement week-end.

The principal events of the 170th Commencement program have tentatively been announced as follows:

Thursday, June 15 Evening: Meetings of the Board of Trustees and Alumni Council.

Friday, June 16 Morning: Meeting of the Alumni Council.

Afternoon: Class Day Exercises. Meeting of Thayer School Alumni.

Evening: President and Mrs. Hopkins at home to members of the graduating class, faculty, alumni and guests. Graduation exercises of the Medical School and Annual Meeting of the Medical School Alumni. Commencement Ball. Dartmouth Movies.

Saturday, June 17 Morning: Phi Beta Kappa Meeting. Alumni, Seniors and Faculty Parade to Alumni Meeting in the Gymnasium, including Presentation of the Fifty-Year Class and Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association.

Noon: Alumni Luncheon.

Afternoon: Cornell-Dartmouth baseball game. Fraternity reunions. Meeting of Tuck School Alumni.

Evening: Promenade Concert by the Dartmouth Band. Performance by the Dartmouth Players. Dartmouth Movies.

Sunday, June 18 Morning: Baccalaureate Exercises.

Afternoon: Dartmouth Movies. Organ Recital. Class Picnics.

Evening: Graduation Exercises in the Bema (in Webster Hall in case of rain). Concert by the Glee Club. Promenade Concert by the Dartmouth Band.
