To baseballer Osmo (Swede) Linden we present the mythical trophy of Dartmouth Athlete of the Month. Few Green warriors in any sport have attracted our attention for improvement from one season to another as much as Linden has done this spring.
Last year Linden played second base and right field on the championship team of 1938. This year he started at first base, but took his shift from first to third with a willing spirit, despite the fact that his first love on the diamond is first base.
Never before a hustler on the field to the extent that it would attract one's attention, Linden in 1939 has had more hustle than any member of the team to date. He has brought himself quickly into top condition and will, without doubt, be the star that he promised to be from the outset of his college baseball career. At his present pace there will be little stopping him either as a fielder or as a hitter, and few will be surprised if, at the end of the season, he ranks as THE star of the baseball aggregation.
