LARGE AUDIENCES HEARD a series of three Guernsey Center Moore Foundation lectures at Dartmouth on October 8-10 by Dr. Hans Kohn, Professor of Modern European History at Smith College, who spoke on the general topic, "Three Centuries of Revolution." His lectures in 105 Dartmouth dealt successively with "Cromwell and the Revolution," "Napoleon and the French Revolution" and "Hitler and the Fascist Counter-Revolution."
Dr. Kohn is the recipient of a 1940 Guggenheim Fellowship enabling him to work on his History of Nationalism. He is also the author of Force or Reason and Revolutions and Dictatorships, both dealing with the background of the present war and with the implications of dictatorship. For the past three years students at Smith College have chosen Dr. Kohn as their favorite professor and have named his course on modern European history as the most valuable in the Smith curriculum.
