THE BIG NEWS this month is the annual dinner, scheduled for Thursday night, February 15. Hoppy speaks, which naturally indicates a full house, assisted by Judge Learned Hand and Bishop John J. O'Hara. The Commodore should be packed with such a galaxy of talent to entertain and instruct.

A managerial change at the Club is the result of Joe Weitzel's resignation after nine years in the faithful service of the organization. The Board of Governors has reverted to the original plan of having a Dartmouth man as the Club's manager, and has appointed Ed Redman 'O6. Ed, well known of course-to many generations of college graduates, -has been chairman of the House Committee and is well qualified to conduct the various diplomatic, financial, and promotional activities that keep a club manager; from ennui. Joe Weitzel, with everyone's good wishes and a handsome brief case from the Club, left to become an accountant. Well, Joe, you won't sit up nights trying to find everyone seats on the 50-yard line, will you?

Under the efficient chaperonage of Jib Dingwall, a committee consisting of Ed Redman, Lou Stone, Allen Bryant, Clark Mattimore and your scribe is working on the Grand Concert and Dance, to be given by the Glee Club, and the Barbary Coast orchestra, at the Biltmore on March 29- It's the hummers' first appearance in town since 1929 and the novelty alone should guarantee standing room only. In addition, however, the song birds of this generation sing Dartmouth songs as effectively as any you have ever heard, and Don Cobleigh promises a minimum of deep sea chanteys, Russian folk dirges and guitar solos and a maximum of collegiate ditties that, so far as the average alumnus is concerned, have all the fervor of the old time religion.

As usual the Club is full to the root With permanent and transient guests. Among the visitors of the month were W. K. Arnold and H. J. Tobin of the faculty, W. M. Bertwell '17, C. E. Leach •14, Lou Garrison '19, S. R. Wheeler '33, G. A. Ballantyne '40, Colin McLeod '38 and John A. Little '39.
