The New York class dinner on January 23 was, as usual, a very pleasant affair—well worth the six-hour drive from Troy. TopperRobinson, Cal Billings and Rupe Thompson came greater distances—from Greenfield, Mass., Hartford and Providence, respectively. Herb Russell of Sufiield, Conn., was there too, but since he travels a lot buying tobacco leaf, it was hard to tell where he had come from. Snook Pasfield and John Flanagan came over from Philadelphia.
The discussion during dinner centered on the Memorial Fund and our chances of equalling 1923's record. Snook was called on for his expert opinion and told us how it can be done. He looked mighty pleased when Chuck Bruder slipped him a couple of stock certificates and Bill Treanor asked for a blank check, which Snook, of course, always carries, president Rupe voiced the sentiment of the class when he thanked Snook for the magnificent job he is doing as Memorial Fund chairman.
