AMONG THE faculty members who returned to Hanover for the second semester was Prof. Francois Denoeu of the French department, who spent the first semester on the western front as a reserve officer in the French Army. He was called for active service while visiting in France during the college recess last summer, and was enabled to return to this country when the French military command demobilized its staff of older reserve officers last month. Although technically on leave of absence for the full academic year, Professor Denoeu will resume some of his faculty duties this semester.

Faculty members back from first-semester leave include Charles R. Bagley, professor of French; Hugh L. Elsbree, professor of Political Science; John W. Harriman, professor of Finance and Banking in Tuck School; Hewette E. Joyce, professor of English; Lloyd P. Rice, professor of Economics; and E. Bradlee Watson '02, professor of English.

Faculty members now on second-semester leave include Arthur Dewing '25, assistant professor of English; Peter S. Dow, professor of Graphics and Engineering; Ernest R. Greene, professor of the Romance Languages; Malcolm Keir, professor of Economics; Robert A. McKennan '25, professor of Sociology; Warren E. Montsie 'l5, assistant professor of French; Dr. Joseph G. Pollard '23, assistant professor of Physical Education; Herbert R. Sensenig '2B, assistant professor of German; Wayne E. Stevens, professor of History; Charles L. Stone '17, professor of Psychology; and Harold E. Washburn '10, professor of French.
