START CHASING THE MOTHS Out of your evening clothes because you will have good use for them on Saturday, March go. On that date the Glee Club will serenade us and the Barbary Coast will "swing us" in the fashion in which they are renowned. The place is the Washington Hotel and the time is 8:30 p.m. This year we expect to have the largest crowd on record and the best time ever. Barry Sullivan '36 and his committee of Winnie Hobbs '33, Larry Reeves '33, Page Worthington '33, Charlie Grant '39 and Baxter Prescott '39 have made all of the necessary arrangements, and Barry assures us that this party will set a new high in entertainment and fun. Mark the date, place, and time on your calendar and join your classmates and friends for an evening's pleasure.
Of about equal importance is the announcement by Dave McCoy '18 that he will desert the ranks in June. The engagement was announced while Dave was in a hospital following an appendectomy. The young lady is Miss Betty Martin and we welcome her to the Dartmouth family. Herb Woods '10, Larry Pope '18, and Taylor Papson '15 feel that their general health should improve considerably, now that McCoy will be a little less free to stir up trouble among the summer bachelors.
Odds and ends: speaking of appendectomies—Jim Pimper '33 "gave" as of January aoth and claims to be as good as ever. ....George Morris 'ill Deke Mack '32 Jack Pyles '32, and Charlie Grant '39 were' among the throng celebrating at the DKE fraternity convention here a couple of months ago Duke Barto '29 and Barry Sullivan '36 were among the ringers pres. ent Clarence Opper '18 celebrated New Year's Eve by indulging in that familiar pacing in a hospital corridor and wound up as the No. 1 father of 1940. Although vital statistics are lacking the event is believed to have been clocked at 12:01:16 a.m in a voice shaking from either pride or fear Ted Stafford '11 recently announced that his son Ted '42 had won the recreational light heavyweight boxing championship.... we were all very glad to see Henry Blair '89 at our Christmas luncheon.... other welcome visitors at recent luncheons include Ed Arliss '29, Ralph Wells '17 (the scourge of the Penna. R.R.), Dean Couper '35, Hal Leich '29, Frank Hight '36, Mart Brand '26 and Ben Burch '32.
