Dantan Winslow Sawyer '33, who successfully mixes painting with his insurance business, showed fifteen of his landscapes at the Passedoit Galleries on East 57th Street, New York City, in March. The exhibition was mostly oil paintings of New England scenes.
Several years ago, Mr. Sawyer was described by Churchill P. Lathrop, Professor of Art at Dartmouth, as an artist who "has a cool penetrating Yankee eye and at the same time a New England vision." This seems to be borne out by his present show which, according to his critics, has successfully caught the charm of New England rusticity.
