THE DARTMOUTH ALUMNI from Jacksonville and surrounding territory in Florida got together Wednesday evening, February 19th, for one of their semi-occasional informal dinners. We had a better attendance than at any previous gathering, and the concensus of opinion was that the meeting was also the most interesting that we had ever had. Several of the men brought along visitors, two of whom were prospective freshmen. One of the boys, who was the guest of Roy Johnson, was Murray Sams from DeLand, Fla., who is a senior at Bolles Academy and has already made his application for admittance.

After the very excellent dinner, which had been arranged for us by Dr. Tom Field at the Timuquana Country Club, a picture of the Dartmouth-Cornell game was shown. We understand that the title was "The Fifth Down," but those at the dinner passed a resolution suggesting that this title be changed to "Who's Who, Playing Whom?", inasmuch as we spent half the time wondering whether or not we got the right film, and the other half trying to figure out which team was Dartmouth. The evening was saved, however, by the showing of a very fine reel taken at the Sugar Bowl Game, played by Tennessee and Boston College. We were indebted to one of our guests, Mr. Barrington Darby, for this technicolor film. Both films were shown for us by Mike Houser, Coach of the local Andrew Jackson High School, and well known to football enthusiasts as one of the outstanding linesmen on the University of Florida's great team back in the late twenties.

In addition to those mentioned above, Dr. Field had as his guests, Sam Blondheim, local attorney, and Ted Arnold, Auburn's Ail-American Quarterback, who for many years has been one of the nation's outstanding football officials.

The alumni present included: Dr. Thomas S. Field 'O7, Dr. Clayton E. Royce 'OB, A. Leßoy Johnson 'l5, Charles C. Bettes 'l6, Lt. Lawrence A. Waite '22, Alfred J. Seitner '34, Richard Millard '35, Henry W. Pierce Sr. representing his son, Henry Jr. '37, R. M. Billings '23, and your correspondent.
