They certainly do things rightly in Vermont. Governor Wilson appointed an educational commission to survey the educational system of the state. This commission engaged an executive secretary who, I judge, was largely responsible for a onehundred-and-fifty-page report recently submitted to the governor. When I tell you that this executive secretary was none other than our Don C. Bliss, you will realize that the governor has an unusually sane and constructive report on which to base any recommendations he has for changes.
Of course, I am always glad to hear from classmates, but Cox, every now and then, sends on something that arouses conflicting emotions. The Panoramic Edition of the Long Beach Press Telegram has just arrived—some sixty pages extolling the beauty and attractiveness of that section of California for pleasure or business. I am glad Cox can be there and enjoy it, but it certainly makes me envious. The contrast with the ice, slush, and fog of a January thaw is disturbing.
