RICHARD MORSE '44 of Hanover, son of Prof. Stearns Morse of the English department, was the winner of the KnowYour Money essay contest conducted at Dartmouth early in December by the U. S. Secret Service. The prize was to have been a trip to Washington as the special guest of the Service, but the outbreak of war cancelled this and young Morse received instead a cash prize of $150 provided by the College and the Dartmouth National Bank.

The contest at Dartmouth was the first of a series of collegiate competitions planned by the Secret Service in its national drive against counterfeiting.
